Some fault tolerant configurations can even keep data available when drives are being replaced. To determine if a specific enclosure has this feature, consult the RAID levels portion of the owner's manual or speak to an official representative.  

The hardware included in many enclosures allows data transfer of up to 12 GB a second. Features often included are SAS HD cables, upgradeable firmware, redundant fans, efficient power supply, and a system health LED display. Enclosures are usually backed by a warranty.
